Proven and original pick-up lines are hard to come by, with universal ones being virtually non-existent. Even the classic ones rarely work, as they tend to seem corny and are not magical love spells. A surefire pick-up line is something of a holy grail. You can never find it. It’s much better to base your wooing effort on true interest in the other person and originality. First off, a good start. You can’t make a good first impression with a learned line. You have to say hi and introduce yourself, then ask questions and listen, let the other person know you want to get to know them and start doing so. You don’t have to blurt out a torrent of words either. People who are less talkative can just initiate the conversation, and if they have a chance, the other one will simply take it from there. If they’re not interested, there’s no harm. It’s always good to ask for their phone number or Facebook account and try again later, although you don’t always get a chance to. In the end, there are still about 3 billion people of the opposite sex, and you are richer by the experience and confidence. After all, walking up and talking to someone takes some courage.
There is no recipe for a good pick-up. It’s sometimes easy if we come across a very open and interested person, sometimes impossible. You can always try a classic dialogue like:

You can usually judge right away if such a line ends up in a complete disaster, at which point it’s good to start by just introducing yourself and inviting them for coffee. Some lines will always cause a negative reaction.
